May 21, 2012 Dear Parents & Students, It gives me GREAT pride and PLEASURE to announce that my class did an AWESOME job on the EOGs! We have been working hard all year and our hard work has paid off! Overall, as a class, we scored as follows: Reading 91% and Math 96%! These scores are a true testament, not only to me, but to all of the teachers at NFP who have had the privilege of teaching your children. It is also a testament to your child's efforts and perseverence throughout this year, as well as, your relationship with us as educators and your continued work at home on those concepts that posed as weaknesses! I commend you all for your hard work and your involvement in your child's education. It truly does take a village to raise a child! Each student was sent home with an envelope containing their EOG scores in reading and math. Please make sure that you CELEBRATE your child's successes in third grade! I am VERY proud of my class and know that they are prepared for fourth grade! This week will be our final week doing homework. No homework will be assigned the week of May 28th! Please go through your child's Monday folder this week. I am sending home a few graded work samples that require your signature. These samples will be given to Mrs. Peabody (Track 1-4th grade). I want her to have an idea of what your child is capable of doing. If you volunteer for Math Keys, Math Stars or KITS, we can resume our activities the week of May 21st. We will continue doing these activities until May 29th. May 29th will also be our final day for these programs. Please be advised that Meet the Teacher for track 1 students will be on May 31st from 5:00-6:00. Please make sure you drop by and meet your child's teacher for the 2012-2013 school year. This week, I will begin teaching 4th grade concepts. Please continue to practice multiplication tables with your child. Make sure that your child commits them to memory as 4th grade is heavily reliant on students knowing their tables. As always, please feel free to contact me via email or at the school if you have ANY questions or concerns. Have a wonderful weekend:) Regards, Daisy
