Today we began Chapter 3 - "Weather
Factors". Students are making study index cards about 6 cloud types and 6
types of wind in the global wind belt.

Students continued to make study cards. We
added three additional clouds to the list. Students also made cards for types
of precipitaion: rain ( mist, drizzle, rain ), sleet, snow, freezing rain, and
hail.

7 Heeden:
The students continued index card note taking. This class added cirrocumulus,
cumulonimbus and nimbostratus to their collection.

7 Romel: In addition, this class answered
the two questions - "Why is the sky blue?" and "Why are sunsets red?" on index
cards.

Today the students of Mr. Romel worked on
Chapter 3, Section 1 -" Energy in the Earth's Atmosphere" page 88 and Section
2 "Heat Transfer" page 94.

Homework: In addition, the students are to
finish their workbook pages 49-55. This is due tomorrow.

Homework: Have science tests signed and
returned by Friday, Oct. 9. It will be a homework grade.

pages 154-155 students are making flash cards for the cloud coverage weather
symbols and for the key that shows weather symbols on maps. This is due
tomorrow.

Both 7th grades received background
information: cloud charts, wind chill factor chart and the class assignment
that went along with being able to read the wind chill factor chart.

Study the weather map symbols for a quiz
that will be on Oct. 22 (Thursday).

Students worked on Section 4 ( Water in the
Atmosphere ) page 106 and Section 6 (Droughts and Floods) page 118 in Chapter
3. They are to complete the workbook pages that go along with these sections -
WB pp. 61-63 and WB pp. 69-70.

identifying the weather symbols. Review your flash cards for this or use your
textbook page 155 under the word "Key".

Celcius to Fahrenheit using examples given on the Smart Board.

on the Smart Board.

rehearsal for music.

Predicting Weather" and Newspaper Weather Map Practice. Finish them.

7 Heeden: They have to practice coverting
temperature from Fahrenheit to Celcius and vice versa.

7 Heeden: They are to change these numbers
in degrees to Celcius---30, 100, 20 and 75 .

7 Heeden: The numbers are to change these
numbers in degrees to Fahrenheit -----15, 60, 2, and 31.
