McDonald Weekly News
November 15, 2009 Classroom News and Reminders Congratulations to Nicole for being chosen as our Panther of the Week for the second time! Nicole is a very hard worker! Her handwriting keeps getting better and better and she always raises her hand when she needs to speak! She is very polite and mannerly! Keep up the good work and wonderful behavior, Nicole!
In Phonics we are concentrating on long vowel words, short vowel words, "r" controlled words, oo words, ew words ow words, and au/aw words. Keep up the reading homework which will reinforce the spelling sounds we are learning.
Congratulations to all those students who handed in their October Book-It calendar booklet! Maybe we will have 100% participation next month! I sure hope so!
Two weeks ago, attached to your homework sheet was a parent letter explaining the Pajama Program. This Scholastic Program provides new pajamas and new books to children in need, many who are waiting and hoping to be adopted. A big thank you to The Hall Family who donated 3 pairs of pajamas! The pajamas we receive will be part of our offertory gifts for our December 9 Liturgy. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
If you are scheduled to read for Lunch Bunch this Wednesday please arrive in the cafeteria by 11:05. Thank you in advance for your time and cooperation.
We will be visiting the Lowes Food Store on New Garden Street the morning of December 10. Permission slips will go home soon.
Please remind your children to stay in their seats and to raise their hand when they wish to speak. It is not necessary for them to walk up to me, especially when I am working with a student or a group of students. Chatting should be reserved to recess and lunch. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and support.
As always, thank you in advance for your kindness and support. If you need to contact me for any reason please do not hesitate to call and if needed, I'll return your call as soon as possible. I prefer phone calls but I will also answer emails.
Sincerely, Jane McDonald
