Christian Lamplighters
Christian Lamplighters are students that are
selected weekly (one per homeroom in the middle school) because during that
week they acted as role models of the Beatitudes. Students earning
Christian Lamplighter will receive a pin, recognition in Friday morning
announcements, and recognition in the school newsletter.
The OLG Christian Lamplighters
are students who
-
are humble, not boastful
-
do not insist on getting their
own way all the time
-
accept and respect themselves
and others for who they are
-
want to do the right thing
-
forgive others without showing
revenge
-
keep their minds and actions
pure and clean
-
refrain from gossip and strive
to prevent conflicts by being peacemakers
-
are willing to risk being
laughed at or shunned for doing the right thing
These values are based on the
Beatitudes
-
Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
-
Blessed are they who mourn, for
they will be comforted.
-
Blessed are they who hunger and
thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied.
-
Blessed are the merciful, for
they will be shown mercy.
-
Blessed are the clean of heart,
for they will see God.
-
Blessed are the peacemakers, for
they will be called children of God.
-
Blessed are they who are
persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
-
Blessed are you when they insult
you and persecute you and utter every kind of evil against you because of me.
Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven.
