Progress reports went home on Friday. The first few weeks of the school year are challenging because students have to get used to a new routine and especially adjust to a new way of testing. Since we are midway through the quarter, there is still time to bring grades up and improve on what is already being done. We finished writing a story about a snake in the classroom. Be sure to ask about your child about it. We started a new unit on verbs and we're trying to think of exciting verbs to use when writing. You can help at home by thinking of better ways to write "run," "walk" and "said." One of the highlights of the week was meeting with our 6th grade Big Buddies. We'll get a chance to meet with them each month throughout the year.
