Welcome to third grade. We are glad to have each one of you in class. You are in store for a fun-filled year of learning!

Subject areas:

Religion - Chapter 2 - "Jesus teaches us about God's love"

During October, the month of the holy rosary, we will learn how to pray the rosary.

Reading - We will continue with Theme 1 - "Off to Adventures"

Children should be in the process of reading a chapter book at all times.

Math - Place value, rounding, and money

English - Types of sentences, subjects & predicates, strengthening sentences in writing

Phonics - We've studied consonant sounds and hard and soft c and g sounds. Next, we will study short vowel sounds.

Science - We're learning about the needs of plants and the life cycle of plants. Please send in anything that relates to our unit of study for extra credit.

Social Studies - Unit 1 - "Good Citizens" - citizens and communities, qualities of a leader, and local leaders
