I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We had both of our children
home from college...hate to break it to you but they don't learn any
housekeeping tricks while they're away ;)!
As is tradition, the third grade has been asked to sing at the children's
Mass on Christmas Eve. We would love to have as many little singers there as
possible. It is OPTIONAL, and we realize some of you will be out of town or
unable to make it. If you think you can be there, however, the more the

-Relative interview answers due tomorrow. We will write the story together in
class this week.
-plastic peanut butter/mayo jars as soon as you can!
-Book order in today's folder. Please order by Friday if you are interested.
-This Friday is an early dismissal day with no LEAP. We have our faculty
Christmas luncheon that afternoon.
-December book report is due December 18th. Please do in cursive!
-We are not having any math quizzing this week since we were out most of last
week. We will pick back up next week with the 11's, so children should be
studying them. They can still come up for early practice tomorrow at 7:35.
This week's basic plan:
Spelling: We will have a test on Unit 14 this Friday. Bonus word is
Religion: We have a Jesse Tree in our room and an Advent Wreath! We will be
learning about the family tree of Jesus. Quiz Thursday on Chapter 10.
Writing: We will be working on our relative story.
Reading: We will read "Talent Show" and have a regular reading test on
Math: We will continue our unit on measurement. Test next week on x11!
Social Studies: We will continue with our unit on The Great Migration and
immigrants in the United States.
Science: We will begin a new unit on the Water Cycle.
Birthdays: None this week!

Kinder-readers to bring in 3-4 books tomorrow (Tuesday) to read to
kindergartners in Mrs. Johnston's class: Merritt, Macie, Sofia, Athan,
Nathan, and Charlie.
