Dear Parents,
I am sending home the January book report so the children can start
thinking about what they would like to do. They are asked to read a book of
poetry and then choose one poem, write it on the paper provided, memorize it,
and then recite it to the class using a prop. Parents will be invited in to
see the performances! They are always a treat! Some good poets that
children have enjoyed in the past are Shel Silverstein and Jack Prelutsky.
This Friday is an early dismissal day (11:45), and the children may wear
Christmas hats and socks.
Religion: We continue to add symbols to our Jesse tree and learn about
Jesus' family tree. We will go to see Fr. John for reconciliation this
Wednesday.
Spelling: Test on Unit 16 this Friday. Bonus word is "precipitation."
Reading: We will read "Centerfield Ballhawk." Test on Thursday.
Math: We will have a test on Thursday on measurement and time. Study the
9's for Thursday!
Social Studies: We will study communities and how they have been affected by
disasters and inventions.
Kinder-readers: Matthias, Angelina, Megan, William, Kristina, and EllaReaves
should bring 3-4 books to read to the kinders in Mrs. Johnston's class
tomorrow.
Birthdays: 12/16-Matthew Falcon!
Totally Terrific Me: Abigail Kenoyer!
Have a great Christmas break!
