Dear Parents,

May continues to fly by as we finish the year with a flurry!  We have our 
Yard Sale coming up this week, Memorial Day next weekend, and our End of the 
Year Picnic on May 31.

Since May is the month of Mary, we have talked about all the different 
names for Mary, and the children were assigned one name to illustrate.  These 
pictures are in the hallway, and are wonderful images of the Blessed Mother, 
in many different venerations.  We also have been saying the Rosary which the 
students have enjoyed.

A few notes:

Annual 2nd Grade Yard sale is on May 17th. Thank you to all who have signed 
up to help out during the Yard Sale.  Remember to continue to collect good 
yard sale items: gently used (and in good condition) books, toys, dress up 
clothes, etc..  The Sign Up Genius has been sent out for volunteers to help 
with set up Thursday afternoon and the sale all day on Friday.

We need items for the Yard Sale.  Please bring all items in to the 
classroom between now and Thursday.

We have discussed animals in science, and the children have been assigned a 
report to write on the animal of their choice.  The outline and grading rubric 
was sent home yesterday in the brown envelope.  A link to this document will 
also be emailed to you.  The students will go to the Technology Lab Wednesday 
to research their chosen animals.  However the rest of this report should be 
completed at home.

   May 16 - Yard Sale set up in the afternoon
   
   May 17 - Yard Sale all day in the Fallon Center

May 22 - Science - Animal Report Due
   
   May 27 - No School - Memorial Day

May 31 - End of the Year Picnic for our class, from 11:00-1:30

June 3 - Clean Up day, Half Day dismissal

June 4 - Last day of school, Mass and early dismissal
