Kindergarten News from Mrs. Yanoschak and Mrs. Harrell
Week of November 16 - November 20
Dear Parents,
We will be celebrating Thanksgiving with our kinderbuddies on Monday,
November 23. We have invited our eight grade buddies to join us for a
Thanksgiving Feast in our classroom around 11:30AM. We would like to thank
Mrs. Castilller, Brianna's mother, for organizing the Thanksgiving Feast. We
would also like to thank everyone for volunteering to supply the food, serve,
and clean up for this exciting event. We cannot thank you enough for your
wonderful support and generosity.
On Tuesday, November 24, there will be a Thanksgiving Prayer Service at
2:00PM in the church. The Thanksgiving Break begins Wednesday, November 25 -
Sunday, November 29. School resumes Monday, November 30.
Please reserve Tuesday, December 15 to watch your child perform in the
annual Kindergarten Christmas Program. It will be held in the Fallon Center
at 9:00AM. We are looking forward to it.
Reading Highlights:
"Dear June" and "Off We Go!"

- introduce letter/sound: Ii (short vowel)
- review letters/sounds: Ff, Gg, Dd, Nn, Cc, Pp, Mm, Rr, Ss, Tt

Center Activities:
Art - color, cut, and paste pictures with the short vowel i sound
Writing - write in journal, "My home is..."
Science - classify items that will sink or float when placed in water
Blocks - build a log cabin with Lincoln Logs
Birthdays:
Madeleine Filizola has a birthday November 10. Happy Birthday Madeleine!
When sending in a birthday snack, please remember the food allergies in our
classroom. (No peanuts)
Star Student:
We will not have a Star Student this week.
Kinder Book Club:
We will not have a Kinder Book Club reader this week.
Math:
The children will continue to identify and write numbers.
Religion:
We will be reading stories from the Bible this week.
Thematic Unit:
We will begin to discuss Pilgrims and the First Thanksgiving.
Newsbrief:
- Please send a snack for your child EVERYDAY, Monday - Friday. The
children will also need a snack brought to school on early dismissal days.
- Please sign and return your child's Weekly Report each Monday.
