I grew up on a farm in Duplin County, just outside of Mt. Olive, NC. Living
and working on the farm and having some other quite interesting jobs left me
with lots of fun stories, but after high school graduation in 1989, I came
to Wilmington as a freshman at UNCW. I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in
Elementary Education in 1993. Over my 10 years in the classroom, I have
taught 2nd, 4th, and 5th grades. In 2004, I achieved National Board
certification. This is my sixth year at Parsley, and I love working here! I
am very excited about looping with my class this year. I'm looking forward
to working with the students and families for another great year!
My husband, Harvey, and I have been married for 12 years and we have two
children. Our son, Cole, is a fifth grader here at Parsley and our daughter,
Kelle, will be a first grader this year. They keep me busy and having fun
all the time. When I'm not at work we enjoy riding bikes, going to the pool
and the beach, and watching Cole play baseball, basketball, and soccer.
