Classroom PetSocks hamster #2 Spring 2008 - I'm sorry to say that due to a skin condition that I've developed, the Dr. says that I can't return to the classroom. The germs are just too much for me and causes my fur to fall out! Let me tell you, a furless hamster is not pretty...well most people think a furry hamster isn't pretty either, but anyway Doc. says no more school classroom for me. I'll miss seeing everyone, being read to, and going home on weekends, but I won't miss having huge bald spots. So I guess this leaves the fish as the only classroom pets. Though they were far across the classroom, they seemed very nice and especially quiet while I slept during the day. The children loved the old upsidedown catfish who is the only one left now. He swims upside down and sleeps upside down in a hollow log. I've heard her say that she's had him for almost all of her years at Parsley - now that's one old fish! I'm sure she'll let you guys pick out fish and bring them in so that he'll have some friends. So long for now -Socks
In Loving Memory of Diego 2005 - 2007 Hi! I'm the class hamster, Diego. I'm named Diego after San Diego, California. Mrs. Good, the teacher next door who was my original owner is from San Diego, so she named me Diego. Her last class hamster had a little accident while escaping from his cage one night and was never seen again. Due to this sad experience with her last class hamster she just wasn't ready for another hamster when I came along. Mrs. Ciamillo said she'd watch me for a while and see how things worked out. She found out that I'm one great hamster and I've been in her class ever since. I love going home with the children on the weekends. There's always an adventure. One time Kathleen made me a REAL hamster habitat with dirt and grass and everything. That was really neat. Once, McKenzie put me in my ball so that I could have a race with her chiuaua. I couldn't believe that he was afraid of me! I took off running and won the race. Who would have thought? Mrs. Ciamillo's daughter, Emily, plays with me almost every afternoon and sometimes I get to go home with her. She let me drive her Barbi car all over the living room. I didn't tell her that I don't have my driver's liscence yet. Mrs. Ciamillo seems to be very proud of my temperament. I'm very kind and loving, even when the kids squeeze a little too tight. I always hear her telling the parents that take me home about how I've never even nipped at a finger. Really, I haven't. She's taken some pictures of me and I wanted to share them with you, so take a look. I hope I get to come to your house soon! See you soon, Diego |
