All about me.....

I've lived in southeastern North Carolina all of my life and am a very proud
Wolfpack fan living in a house divided with ECU Pirates. I was born in
Jacksonville and raised in the very small town of Hubert, which is just
northeast of Jacksonville. In my early teenage years, we moved one town
farther northeast to Swansboro where I continued to attend Swansboro schools
and graduated from Swansboro High School.

I moved to Wilmington and attended UNCW, where I received my BA Degree in
Elementary Education. I have been teaching at Parsley ever since opening
year in 2001 for a total of 13 years teaching, 2nd grade all along, except
for one year of Kindergarten and one year of 5th grade. Prior to teaching
at Parsley, I taught at J.C. Roe and Malpass Corner, and was a teacher
assisstant at Dorothy B. Johnson and William H. Blount.

I enjoy teaching all subjects, but science with all of it's critters and
wonders of nature has my heart. At home I enjoy working in the yard,
listening to music, playing the piano and flute, swimming and playing
outside with my children, walks around the neighborhood or park, and baking
sweets - anything that isn't chocolate, with the exception of brownies. My
3 year old neice says that my oatmeal cookie dough is the best. Most of the
time we just eat the dough and don't even get to bake the cookies unless I
make a double batch of dough. The second half for baking.

I have been married for 15 years. My husband and I have 3 beautiful and
amazing children: Sarah, age 12, is in 7th grade at Roland Grise
Middle School, Emily, age 9, is in 3rd grade here, and David is 7
years old and going to 1st grade here at Parsley. They are very involved
in recreational sports, so you're sure to see us on a field
anywhere in town.

Mission For The Class

Try your best at whatever you do, even if you don't feel like it.
Be eager to learn. When the work gets hard, we work harder.
Be respectful to all people and things, even if you're upset.
Have a great day....everyday because you tried your best.
