During the 4th quarter, we will begin our social studies of scarcity 
and the impact on the production, distribution, and consumption of 
goods and services. Students will work to distinguish and analyze 
the economic resources within communities and explain reasons for 
economic interdependence of communities. Talk to your child about 
scarcity issues we face now and when you were their age. Explain how 
your profession relates to other resources in the community. If you 
create a product in your profession, explain to your child all of 
the resources and communities involved in making that product. If 
you are a business, describe all of the community that is involved 
in keeping your business going. If you are a business owner and 
would like to come to talk to the class about this interdependence,
