Students and parents at Parsley Elementary are challenged each month
to find one of the three Parsley Patriot kids hidden somewhere on one of the
pages within our website www.nhcs.k12.nc.us/parsley You'll know when you
find Liberty, Justice, or Freedom because it will say "You found me!"
Only students at Parsley are eligible to enter. Parents are encouraged
to "surf" the web with their child(ren). They may assist with finding the
hidden Patriot, but the student must participate in finding the Patriot and
sending the e-mail. One entry per person, per e-mail, per month. Families
with more than one Parsley student must send a different e-mail for each
student.

The entire URL of the page the Patriot is located on must be pasted in the e-
mail to Parsley - only exact URLs count. This is very important because it
lets Mrs. Rizzo know that you have visited the page the Patriot is hidden on
and found him or her for yourself. Incomplete URLs will not count. You
cannot just type the name of the page in the e-mail.

Type the name of the Patriot kid you found in the e-mail. For example, "I
found Liberty."

The student's name and teacher's name must also be included in the e-mail.
Be sure to include a subject in your e-mail such as "I found the Patriot"
or "I found Liberty" (or Justice or Freedom).

Also, Parsley's Patriot Kids, Liberty, Justice, and Freedom, are ready to go on vacation with
Parsley students. Vacations include not only those that take you away from Wilmington, but also
trips around town. Going to the Battleship, a museum, or the beach just for the weekend?
Consider taking one of the Patriot Kids with you!

Choose one Patriot Kid to go on vacation with you. If he/she is already booked for a vacation,
a different Patriot Kid may accompany you. Upon your return, you will email us a picture at
parsley@nhcs.net from the vacation and an article telling us about your trip and adventures.

In order to take a Patriot Kid on vacation with you, you will need to complete and submit a
Patriot Kids' Vacation Contract. On this form, you will be able to request which Patriot Kid
you would prefer, learn your responsibilities, and special care instructions. Download the pdf
contract from www.nhcs.k12.nc.us/parsley/PatriotKids/PatKidsVacContract.pdf and turn in to Mrs.
Rizzo at least one week in advance of your trip. You might want to check their vacation
schedule at www.nhcs.k12.nc.us/parsley/PatriotKids/PatriotsSchedule.htm to see who is available
to travel. The Patriot Kid going on vacation with you will be sent home with you before you
leave on vacation.
