About The Teacher

I would like to introduce myself as your child’s 5th grade teacher and share 
a few things about myself.  In 2004 I graduated from UNC-Wilmington, where I 
received my bachelor's degree in elementary education.  I taught first grade 
at Four Oaks Elementary for Johnston County Schools. 

However, once I became engaged, I moved back to New Hanover County Schools 
so that I could be with my husband who is a music teacher at Murrayville 
Elementary. I have been teaching 5th grade here at Parsley Elementary ever 
since!  

I have decided to continue my education at UNC-Wilmington and I am currently 
pursuing my master’s degree in instructional technology. Technology is a 
very important part of the curriculum and I truly enjoy working with the 
upper grades.

Mission For The Class

    Students will come to school prepared to learn each day with a positive 
attitude as they strive to do their very best work while getting along well 
with others.
