It's Spring and we have the fever in our class! This last semester of school really is lots of fun to teach. All of the children have matured into such awesome little students. Lots of learning is evident with their work. They are all reading and writing so well in their journals. The students don't need a lot of help from us. Our insect unit has begun and we are excited! In the classroom, we have ladybugs, praying mantises and mealworms. Speaking of mealworms, each child has 2 for their very own and are able to watch them mature into beetles. The insect is my favorite science kit and we have lots of hands on action with them. Parents, thank you so much for the donations of snacks, glue and wipes. This time of the year we need a new supply and again we appreciate it! Also, thank you for snacks. Here is what is happening this month: Writing: Journal writing - Detailed pictures with 2 or more sentences to support the illustration. Reading: Letter sounds, blends, core words, reading simple text and working on comprehension skills Theme: Spring, Easter Holiday, and insects Science: Insects, seeds and plants Math: Reading and writing #'s 0-30, spatial puzzles, calendar, time, money, addition and subtraction.
