Photos From Literacy Station

If you've ever wondered what
Literacy Stations look like, well
enjoy these photos.

While working in Library Station,
a student decides to make an award
for his favorite book!

During Computer Station, the
children can use kidpix to write a
story and draw an illustration.
They can also practice phonics
with several school programs and
much more!

In Discovery Station, the children
work on increasing their
vocabulary, especially with
science, social studies, and math
related words. This student is
enjoying a concentration game
with "Words That Rock".

After listening to a story, the
girls are writing about their
favorite parts and drawing
illustrations. Listening to
stories on CD can help the
children improve their fluency.

The children are enjoying a
rhyming concentration game in
Poetry Station. Poems are full of
rhymes. Our poem this week
is "Rags".

Wow! Look at all the words spelled
with the magnetic letters in
Spelling Station. The students can
also write their spelling words on
the board, complete rhyming and
abc puzzles, use the magnetic word
builders and much more.

This student is writing science
vocabulary words on the chalk
board. These are words that the
students in our class made a list
of during a rock's science lesson.

In Word Station, the children can
write their core words and their
spelling words on the small white
boards. The students can also play
word games, search around the room
for words, etc. I hope this gives
you a little glimpse of stations.
