FAQQUESTIONS & ANSWERS ABOUT THE LIBRARY MEDIA CENTER
How many books can students check out? Students in Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade will be allowed to check out 2 books. Students in 4th and 5th grade will be allowed to check out 3 books. Exceptions will be made for special projects assigned by the teacher. When do students come to the library to exchange books? The Media Center is open every day from 7:30 to 3:00. Students may check out books during their scheduled weekly lesson in the library with Mrs. Williamson. Students may also exchange books at any other time the teacher allows them to come to the library. Books are due back to the library 1 week from the date they are checked out. We do not stamp the due dates in the back of the books. If students forget their library books, they will receive a "friendly reminder", an overdue slip, stating which books they still have checked out. Students may also renew their books if they are not yet finished reading them. What do we do if a book becomes damanged? If a book is damaged, please send a note along with the book stating what happened to the book. We will try to repair it. However, if it is beyond repair, we will send a letter home with the student, asking you to pay for the book. The money we receive will be used to purchase another copy of the damaged book. What do we do if a book becomes lost? If a book becomes lost, please send us a note letting us know. We will check in the library to see if it was returned. If not, we will send a notice home with the student, asking parents/guardians to pay for the lost book. The money we receive will be used to purchase another copy of the lost book. If the lost book is found at a later time, please contact us and we will refund your money. |
