I have been tied up with jury duty almost the entire week. I was at work Monday luckily, to do some last minute review, but I have been on jury duty the rest of the week. Unfortunately it may go into next week as well. I miss my students and I hope they all did well on the EOG. I hope to have the scores soon. For those that may need remediation prior to retesting (those scoring below level 3), the remediation will begin next week (May 29). Students will be taking a final notebook quiz and vocabulary test Friday, May 25th.
I extended the due date for accelerated math to May 24. Students need to keep studying for the math EOG!!!!!! We are almost at the end. I need the students to give that extra push and extra effort these last few days. Thank you for your support!
Students can google "NCDPI released EOG tests or sample EOG questions" and this will bring up various websites that you can go on and print out a released test or sample questions. This is a great review for the EOG in math and/or reading. The math give answers as well, so the students can immediately check their work. I highly encourage this practice.
A special thank you to Christian Stivason and Paige McCulley for bringing in kleenex tissues recently. It is greatly appreciated. Also, a special thank you to Makayla McQueen for bringing in reams of computer paper. We go through a lot of it for Accelerated Math! I also want to send out a big thank you to all students and parents that gave me Teacher Appreciation gifts throughout the week. You all are the greatest!
My classes are in need of tissues. If you are willing to donate a box it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!!!
The End of Grade tests will be here soon. May 22 is the Reading EOG, May 23 is the Math Active EOG, and May 24 is the Math Inactive EOG. In preparation for the Math EOG's Mr. Kistler (Science teacher) is helping me by administering EOG review problems for the students to practice and get assistance with as needed. Mrs. High (Writing Teacher) is also helping me by giving the students additional practice on material that I am teaching. Mr. Taylor (Social Studies) will also help me at times by giving the students some remediation on basic math operations dealing with fractions and decimals. Please encourage your child to study for the EOG's and to continue to work on Accelerated Math on a regular basis. I still have about a weeks worth of new material to cover and then we will also begin an intense review on all objectives covered this school year. Thank you for all of your continued support.
