About The Teacher
I was born and raised in the state of Illinois, where my family still resides. I attended Illinois State University and graduated with a B.S. of Education in 2003. I moved to North Carolina in March of 2004 and started teaching 2nd grade in Duplin County. After 2 years, I moved to Raleigh and began working in 2nd grade at River Bend Elementary. This is my 8th year of teaching and I have enjoyed every minute of it.

Mission
I will do my very best to make sure that every child that enrolls in my class will get the best quality education that I can provide. I work long hours in and out of the classroom to make sure that I meet the needs of all my learners and help target remediation and enrichment activities that will foster a love a learning. I also believe in teaching students the morals and work habits that will make them more productive students and citizens. I use a variety of positive discipline plans to make sure that my students walk out of the classroom each day happy and ready to come back for another challenging day of learning experiences and new adventures.
