Hello!
I will once again be using this site as a communication tool. Please note that
nightly homework assignments will be posted. Also, I will update the calendar
and events as the year progresses! Please feel free to email me anytime.
The supply list and wish list have also been updated!
Picture Day is Sept 12th
I am attaching a file with information to explain closed syllable types.
Please review the information within that file if your child needs extra help
with tonight's homework. You can find the file under the Rockett's Documents
tab on the left side of the page.
Retake Picture Day is Wednesday, October 19
The Fall Portraits are the ones that will go in the yearbook, so we want to be
sure every students has the opportunity to have a photo taken. If they were
absent or do not like their original photo, they may have another taken on
October 19.
Also, Lifetouch Studios will make Student ID cards which River Mill Academy
will use in the Cafeteria and the Media Center/Library. We have purchased
handheld scanners which students will use to scan their ID card for meal
purchases in the Cafeteria and to check out materials from the Media Center.
Therefore, it is important that each student be photographed.
REMEMBER!!!!
Monday January 16th is a holiday. NO SCHOOL!
February 10th and 13th = No School for students.
Field trip tomorrow March 1st.
Vocabulary words will be included on the spelling test this week.
Remember Fridays are testing days!
Mandatory tutoring will begin on March 13th. We will tutor on Tuesdays and
Thursdays from 3-3:30. If you received a notice that your child is expected
to attend tutoring please sign and return it by Thursday March 8th.
All students are welcome to attend tutoring sessions even if they haven't
received a notice. If you would like for your child to attend please notify
me by sending a handwritten note or an email message.
Report cards go home Friday March 16th.
We will be having a Wendy's party Friday March 16th as a reward for our
participation in the food drive!!
Please remember that tutoring is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-3:30.
Please make sure your child is picked up at 3:30.
TODAY March 28th IS PUTT PUTT TRIP FOR BOTH THIRD GRADE CLASSES!!!!
Awards Day is tomorrow morning. Please check your email. I emailed all parents
who's child will be getting an award. Remember our cookout is tomorrow as well.
