Week of November 16th - 20th, 2009

Religion: We have all been asked to bring a specific item for our Thanksgiving Basket this year. I am
also asking my students to ask to do extra chores around their homes to earn "extra change"
to donate to go towards the purchase of the family turkey. Please let me know if you have any
questions or concerns. I believe this is one of the most powerful ways to give our children the
true experience of the stewardship of our faith.

Lang. Arts: Spelling Worksheet. Use your words written in your Assignment Book
and on the activity page to help you complete the activities correctly.
---- Read for 30 min. nightly in order to reach your
November Reading Goal of 14 hours!

Math: Correct, Complete IN A DIFFERENT COLOR, Get Signed AND STUDY for your Times Test. Return by Friday.
Superstar Math VIII. Please work all that you can and be prepared to ask our Superstar Dad any questions
tomorrow during our Superstar Math Lesson.
Chapter 2 Test will be on Thursday. Please use p. 90 assignment and the
      assignment, p. 462 2-1 as a study guide.

I want to thank all of you parents for helping to keep your children healthy and well rested
for this week of testing. We have had perfect attendance all week! I am certain that every one
on these children put forth their very best effort.
Just a reminder...
Tomorrow is our Mass at regular time. Please help your child to remember to bring a food item OR
make a card for someone in need of our prayers.
We will also be going to the Living Rosary at 2:00 on Friday.
There will be no Timed Times Test on Friday. That gives them an extra week of practicing!!
Math SuperStar II is due on Friday (10/02).
Students are bringing home their first Social Studies Class Activity. Please sign the blue
sheet and return it with your student. I will send it back for you to keep, next week.
The new October Reading Log is going home today. Please ask your child if he/she remembered to
turn in the September Reading Log. This month...15-1/2 hours! (That is 30 min. a night - 7 nights
a week!)
Progress Reports went home this week via email. Please let me know if you did not receive one or if
you have any questions.
Have a wonderful weekend! Enjoy this fall weather!!

As you know, we will be taking the IOWA's all week this week. So, for that reason, we will have little
or no homework.
Please make sure your child reads every night for 30 minutes. His/Her September Reading Log will be due
on Thursday, and should have a minimum of 10 and 1/2 hours. This is considered one grade for Language Arts.
Also...
I have sent home the Green Communicators today. Please look over all papers then sign the white form inside
your child's Communicator. Return both the Communicator and white form on Tuesday. All papers below an 80% may
be corrected for an improved grade of 80%. Remember that all corrections need to be in a different color and
all corrected papers MUST HAVE a parent signature. This is a great week for redoing work, since there is no
other required homework.
Your child's Progress Report will go home via email this week. So, please be on the lookout for it!
