I feel privileged to be part of the professional team of educators that make
up St. Mark Catholic School. I was born in Brooklyn, New York, attended
college in Maryland, and moved to Wilmington 12 years ago. I graduated from
Johns Hopkins University with a B.S. in Mathematical Sciences. I completed
the teacher certification program at UNCW specializing in middle grades math
and I am presently working on a Masters Degree in Middle Grades Education at
UNCW. Mathematics is truly one of my passions and I thoroughly delight in
sharing that with my students.
My family includes my husband of 21 years, a son in high school and a
daughter in college, and two very fussy cats. Yes, I have survived the
middle school years! I also feel blessed to have my parents living nearby.
Having a close-knit extended family has enriched all of our lives. My
favorite pastime is playing tennis and I also love to read and do crossword
puzzles.
My mission is to actively engage my students in making sense of mathematics
while developing confidence in their mathematical ability. Middle school
learners are increasing their capacity for abstract thinking. My mission
includes designing a curriculum that strengthens computational skills and
provides opportunities for expanding mathematical reasoning.
