Here is where you will find opportunities to earn extra points towards poor quiz grades, missing homework, etc. The assignments will be up for a limited amount of time and must be in by the due date. No late bonus projects will be accepted. (Look for your grade level for the topic you can do.)
All assignments must be typed (single space within paragraphs and double space inbetween paragraphs) and have proper heading.

If found online, must include the website and then type a three paragraph
summary of the article you found.

7th - Find a recent (within the past 6 months) article on any type of simple
organism (bacteria, protist, fungi). Type up a summary (3-5
paragraph) (single space in paragraph, double space between
paragraphs) and be sure to include the website or article you are
summarizing.
8th - Find out about a unique organism that lives in the extreme environment of the
thermal vents located on the ocean floor (mid-atlantic ridge,
mariannas trench, etc.) and write a 3-5 paragraph summary about
that organism. (single space in paragraph, double space between paragraphs) Be sure to include website(s) or
source you used.

6th - Research a rare and precious mineral and create a profile using 3 or more sources.
Include mineral name, chemical formula, crystal structure, hardness, streak,
description of how the mineral is found in its natural world, location found, how
it is mined, and what particular uses it has, as well as a picture(s) of the mineral.
Must be typed following the spacing format in last opportunity (see above).
7th - Create a powerpoint slide show/video that illustrates both mitosis and meiosis.
Graphics including pictures/photos of actual cells going through each process
are needed. Also include what types of organisms go through each process,
numbers of chromosomes of different species, the individual steps of each process,
put together in a creative and entertaining fashion.
