NOVEMBER:
· Thanksgiving Baskets
- Thanksgiving week
- This is a school social justice/community service project.
- Each student will be asked to donate an item/s (no gift cards please) to make a complete Thanksgiving dinner. These items are collected into a “basket” and they are brought to the Tielston building at St. Mary’s Church downtown. These baskets are donated to needy families.

- Small treat and drink needed for class

DECEMBER:

December 1st from 9:30-11:30 - Poplar Grove Field Trip
- Parent chaperones will be needed
- Parents will need to pay admission
- Students will have a bag lunch at school following the trip
- Snack and drinks provided by Mrs. White & Ms. Sherer

Baby Shower for Jesus-Friday Dec. 11th at 1:30

Social Justice/Respect for Life
- Each student will be asked to bring in a new/gently used wrapped baby item. The children will exchange and open the baby gifts thus having a “baby shower” these items are then donated to a local women/children organization.
- Snacks and drinks needed

Christmas Party- Friday Dec. 18th 1:30
- Cookie decorating party
- Need approximately 36 cookies( preferably sugar cookies)
- Decorations needed for cookies
- Drinks needed( milk, water, juice)
- 5-6 parent volunteers needed

FEBRUARY:

Valentine Hearts for Juvenile Detention Center
- The 3rd grade classes will be making and filling felt Valentine Hearts to be given to those in the Juvenile Detention Center.
- Social Justice/Respect for Life
- RED FELT squares 2 per child total needed 52
- White Cloth Ribbon

Valentine’s Day Treat- Friday Feb. 12th at 1:00
- Felt hearts will be filled this day for Juvenile Detention Center
- Class Valentines will be passed out
- Small class snack and drink will be needed
- 5-6 parent volunteers needed ( “Heart” Religion project)

St. Patrick’s Day Snack -Wed. 17th at 12:30
- St. Patrick Scavenger Hunt

- This is a birthday snack for all the 3rd graders whose birthdays are in the summer.
