sorts in education and opened several of the early childhood programs for
the Catholic Schools of Broome County in the early ‘70s. She was Asst.

taught 5th grade math, science and social studies for three years and then
English in grades 6-8 for three years. (1980-1986). Following that
experience she became the Principal of St. Anthony’s School from 1986-

shared many of the strategies she knows with her faculty and serves as a
mentor to them. She began a professional library of resources for the
teacher at OLS-Seton and continues to acquire resources for the teachers at
her new school, St. Mark.
Mrs. D firmly believes in living out the postulate: Good, Better Best; never
let them rest…
Since her appointment last year, St. Mark has seen growth in scores and
resources. The school was accredited by SACSCASI Apr.2005. Mrs. D. has
found ways to fund opportunities for teachers to attend workshops and
courses. She loves the children whether they’re in kindergarten or 8th
grade. She has worked diligently to include them and their ideas in the
school governance as well as having a strong active Home School Association
and School Advisory Council.
There’s another passion in her life and that’s her family. She has two
married daughters and proudly boasts
four granddaughters and 2 grandsons. If they didn’t
live in Oxford, NC and Bel Air MD, we know they’d be attending St. Mark!
She has many hobbies and interests but having moved to Wilmington last July,
her favorite recreation is enjoying Wrightsville Beach, especially when her
family visits.
