HOW GRADES ARE ESTABLISHED
KINDERGARTEN: Listening, following directions, learning to place the foam violin on the left shoulder and hold it with their jaw bone, hold the bow in the right hand, clap rhythms, work on finger coordination. All of this is the year goal. Your child's grade will reflect their accomplishments in relationship to the entire class.
GRADE 1 Everything they learned in kindergarten except with real violins. The goal for the year is to learn The Variations of Twinkle and be independent. Their grade reflects their standing in the class.
GRADES 2 and 3 Everything they learned in kindergarten, but advancing in the music quicker. Practicing counts!! Their grade is based on effort and their standing in the class.
GRADES 4-8 Everything they learned in kindergarten!!! Reading is now a big deal and tests will be given. Also tests are given on memorizing their Suzuki music. Effort grades are based on practice and being ready to learn in class.
