SCRIP Program for St.MarySchool
What is SCRIP?
It is a
combination of gift cards and coupons that St.MarySchool
purchases at a discount and re-sells at face value. St.
Mary earns a percentage from your purchases from major retailers without
you spending any more than you normally would!
Why Should I Buy SCRIP?
The SCRIP
program allows the school and parish to generate funds for projects without
“fundraising” or seeking donations. During the 2006/07 school year, the SCRIP
program generated enough profit to resurface and restripe the church and
school parking areas. The project allowed for the addition of several new,
clearly marked handicapped parking spots and for re-painting of the children’s
“map” playground, as well as games and activities for the children to enjoy
throughout the year.
How do I buy SCRIP?
This is an
on-going program. School and parish volunteers are available after mass on the
weekends and on scheduled afternoons at the end of the school day to sell the
local SCRIP cards and coupons and to take orders for the national program.
Local Program:
Cash and carry selected cards or coupons after mass or from St.MarySchool
volunteers at scheduled weekly times. Vendors include Food Lion, Lowe’s
Foods, Port City Java, and Mary Kay Cosmetics. The profits that are raised
from the SCRIP card sales are in addition to the percentage of sales
donated through the grocery stores bonus programs.
National Program:
Place orders after mass may be picked up after mass the following week, or at
the parish office on Friday. Orders placed through school on Monday will be
sent home on Friday. For a complete selection of national merchants available,
visit shopwithscrip.com
There are hundreds of participating national merchants, perfect for holiday
gift giving and travel. Some of them include Dillards, Belk, JC Penney,
Kohl’s, Exxon, Shell, Pizza Hut, O’Charley’s, Bed, Bath & Beyond, CVS and
Walgreen’s. Denominations and % contributions vary with merchant.
You can place orders online, send in voucher & payment and receive orders
