| | St. Mary Middle School students participated in the NC Science Olympiad for
the first time in March 2007. The students had great success with several
students qualifying for participation at the state level!

| | The 8th Grade class is responsibile for raising and lowering the American
flag outside the school each day. At the end of each school year, it is the
tradition that the flag be passed to the rising 8th grade class in a
ceremony that often includes the Knights of Columbus and/or representatives
of local veterans groups.
