A). "The Children's day", write a short summary describing how Mexico celebrates the children's day.
B). "Cinco de Mayo", write a short summary the importances/the history of el Cinco de Mayo.
C). "Mother's day", choose any country in Latin America and describe how they celebrate mother's day.

The celebration of "Our Lady of Guadalupe" in Spanish. Dec. 11 at 10:00 PM at St. Mary's church. "15pts"
This is not a requirement, it is only if the parent wishes to take the students. In the past some students had been to this celebration. This celebration consist of different stages: at 10:00 they will have an Aztec folkloric dance, at 11:00 there is a parade, at 12:00 it is when everybody sings special songs to honor the Lady of Guadalupe follow by Spanish mass and finally around 1:00 (after mass) there is a reception with a lot of typical mexican food.
What to do:
1.Write a short summary of your experience in this
celebration. What did you see? How did you feel? Etc…
2.Take a picture and turn in with your summary

What to do to get extra credit:
1. Attend to mass
2. Write a brief summary about your experience during this event. (For example, what you see, what you heard, how did you feel, etc.)
3. Turn in no later than Oct. 15

Parents:
Make sure your child come to class prepare.
They need to bring the following:
1. The Spanish book (8th grade has two Spanish books)
2. A notebook (this will be their Spanish notebook only).
3. A pencil and eraser
4. A pencil sharpener
5. Flash cards (optional)
Quick reminder: I will take points off if the student doesn't come to class prepare.
