Announcements

                                                        November 20, 2009
Dear Parents,

On Tuesday, we'll be making corn husk dolls to help celebrate Thanksgiving.
Thanks to all the parents (& grandparents) who have volunteered to help!
We'll begin around 10:30 and should be finished by 12:00. I want to
especially thank Sarah Lynch who is helping to coordinate this fun activity.
Also, please feel free to join us for the Thanksgiving Prayer Service on
Tuesday at 2:15 in the church.

As you know, we are working on telling time in math. We've also spent a few
days on elapsed time. We're using our own clocks, elapsed time rulers, white
boards....lots of hands-on to help with this concept. We will have a test on
Tuesday for sections 7.1-7.4. After Thanksgiving, we'll finish up chapter 7.
We've been using the Promethean Board for some great time lessons, too!

I hope your child has shared with you the name of the priest they are
praying for during this "Year for Priests." The class also wrote a prayer
for all priests. We've been praying it daily in our classroom. I hope your
child shares the prayer with you, so you may bring to say this prayer as a
family. The children are also writing letters to their assigned priest...the
letters are amazing!!

We have an interesting bulletin board display in our classroom. It is a
Thanksgiving bar graph that reflects data from a Thanksgiving survey the
children completed. It's easy to see that most children in 3B like turkey,
but there are only a few turnip lovers out there. It was fun to read about
their favorite Thanksgiving memory, too.

I wish you and your family a relaxing and memory-filled Thanksgiving!

Please know your families continue to be in my prayers and I ask that you
pray for mine as well.

                     Peace,

                     Anne Donnelly
