This week 3A has the Mass! I hope you can join us in God’s celebration.

Well it was a short week, but we did a lot of technology!!! Mrs. Z, our
media teacher, has allowed me to keep an LDC projector in my room. This has
allowed me to have much more access to educational games, websites, and
streaming videos. I love the enrichments and the kids do too! On Friday we
did Tumble Books in the computer lab as well as fun grammar games.

Mr. Torres and Mrs. Todd visited our classroom on Veteran’s Day and we are so
thankful for their service to our country.

The book fair is this week. Our class’s time slot is during their library
time on Tuesday. If they forget their money that day, they may purchase
items during the week.

There is a Dress Down Day this Thursday. Please have your child bring in a
$1.00 donation that will go towards the Raleigh Rescue Mission.

This week’s upcoming tests:

Thursday- Summary Reading test: The Cat Who Became A Poet
(I will send home an extra rubric for them to use when practicing their
summary for the test)
           Unit 5 Grammar test

Tuesday.

Session 6 Religion test- will need to be able to look up Bible
passages as part of the test too.

Math
We are starting Ch 7 on telling time, reading timelines, and calculating
elapsed time, as well as reading calendars.

Reading
The Cat Who Became a Poet is a great fantasy with incorporates poetry. We
read the story, discussed the figurative language and began our haikus.

Please stress with your children that the vocab. foldables are graded. I
look for: correct spelling of the vocab. words, six-word sentences, correct
punctuation, neatness, correct definition, and part of speech, as well as the
sentences making sense while using the vocab. word correctly.

Religion
We started Session 6 in the book. We explored what monasteries look like on
the internet, discussed the lessons behind parables, and will learn how to
look up Bible passages this week. The test will be next week before
Thanksgiving break.

Grammar/Writing
We are almost done with Unit 5. We will cover prefixes and use of commas
this week.

SS
3A saw a great clip describing government to how our school runs . We will
finish up this semester learning about our Constitution, Bill of Rights, and
Government in SS. I will continue to use Discovery Education Streaming to
enrich this great subject matter. It is a paid educations website that has
great video clips and fun lessons.
