The Estimation Jar will be sent home with a student each Friday. The family decides how to fill it and sends it back on Monday. Individual students estimate the number of the contents throughout the week. They may change their estimate each morning. On Friday, we open the jar and count the contents together after we have aligned our estimations (sticky notes) along a continuum, identifying the mean, median and mode of the estimates. The Estimation Jar can be filled with any item your family chooses. Please indicate whether the item can or cannot be shared with the class at the end of the day.

The student(s) who estimates the correct number without going over, will have his/her name posted here. Additionally, a listing of what has been used to fill the jar will be listed so no duplications occur. A list of students (first names only) and their week to take the jar home will be posted soon.
