11/08 - I have been in many 3rd grade classrooms teaching Explorers'
lessons. Small pull out groups will be formed for additional enrichment. We
are investigating 'Proverbs'. Check out the Web Links site for some sites

The Wake County Public School System Academically Gifted Program includes a
unique component for the third grade. The AG resource teacher works in
partnership with all third grade teachers to provide a variety of in-class
experiences designed to elicit high academic performance. Students who
demonstrate potential in these activities will receive extension activities
in language arts and mathematics under the guidance of the AG resource
teacher. This program is called the Explorers/Enrichment Plus Model.

experiences, while some students may not demonstrate a need for extension
activities. Participation in a small group experience DOES NOT MEAN THAT THE
STUDENT HAS BEEN OR WILL BE IDENTIFIED FOR FUTURE AG SERVICES. Evidence from
the 'Explorers/Enrichment Plus Model' will be considered with formal (norm-
referenced test/s) and informal indicators (including evidence of student
learning and behaviors, performance, interest, and motivation) for 'possible'
AG nomination during the Spring identification window."
