TIPS ON HELPING YOUR CHILD HAVE A GREAT YEAR 1. Talk regularly with your child about what he/she is learning at school. Listening shows you care and that school is important. Ask specific questions. 2. Read with your child as much as possible including books, magazines, or comic books. Let your child pick what they want to read, this will help keep their interest. 3. Make homework a priority. Set a time each night and help your child when needed but don't do the work for them. 4. Meet with your child's teacher to find out more about how you can help them to succeed. 5. Send your child to school ready to learn.
