Lunch This Week
Please remember that this week I am asking that you pack a lunch for your child on Wed., Thurs., and Fri. - for this week only!  The older children will be taking their end of grade tests and our schedule will be completely changed for those 3 days.  We will be eating lunch at 11:40 and then we will have snack in the afternoon.  Since the older children will still be taking the tests at that time we are going to eat lunch in our classroom.  We will have a “picnic” in the room and watch a Scholastic movie of a popular children’s book.  We are doing this in part because the children will have to be completely silent in the cafeteria and in the hallway, so it is much easier if we don’t have to go in the hallway or the cafeteria. Thank you so very much for helping us out! 

Keep Reading!
The children will continue to bring books home through June 4.  At that point I will start collecting all the books.  Please continue to look for our reading books in any place you can think of - under beds, on shelves, under the seat of the car, etc.  We are missing several! 

Centers
Unit - The Deep Blue Sea - our final unit of the year!

Language - writing about things we can do at the beach
Math - a booklet about shells and subtraction
Fine Motor - individual booklets about the beach
Art - “porthole” pictures - painting what we might see in the ocean if we looked out a window!


Upcoming Events
Wed., May 16- Fri., May  18 - please bring lunch to school
Fri., May 25 - all library books due
Mon., May 28 - Memorial Day - no school
Fri., June 1 - Super Kids Day
Thurs., June 7 - last day of school!
