Math-A-Thon

Students in grades K-8 at Fisher's 24 School recently participated in a Math-A-Thon to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.The program was designed to compliment the math curriculum, while teaching students the importance of helping others. Working together, the students raised $821.00 for the patients of St. Jude.

Top fundraisers were:
Cassie and Tasha Macholan, Austin McCulloch, Vance and ViviAnne Sayer and Jerry Vrba.

Sixth grader, Korbin Kudera, recently participated in the Math Counts Competition at Central Community College in Columbus. Korbin won an award for "Best New School". Korbin is the son of Tammy and Kevin Kudera.

Spelling Bee Winner

The Colfax County Spelling Bee was held on Monday, February 6th at 7:00
p.m. in the Middle School Cafeteria. There were three schools represented
from our district (Richland, Fisher’s and SMS) involving twelve students.
Round 1 eliminated 10 spellers with 2 moving onto Round 2. The champion
and runner were determined in round 2. The Champion was Brandon Garcia
who attends Fisher’s and the Runner up was Preston Hall who attends SMS.
The State Spelling Bee will be held in Omaha on March 10th.
