What is a CPR and why do we have to do it?

CPR stands for cultural participation and research. It allows
students to
use their language skills outside the classroom and gain confidence
in a
real life setting. In their year-end evaluations, students remark
that they
really enjoyed doing the CPR projects.

Why do we do a portfolio?

By completing a portfolio a student is able to see how much s/he has
accomplished. It also gives the student the opportunity to reflect
on how
s/he learns best, what areas give her/him difficulty, and what s/he
can
do to
improve. The student also shares her/his portfolio with her/his
parents/guardians so that they can see their child's progress.

Language students around the globe complete portfolios of their
learning
experiences to document their progress. They may share these with
future
teachers, post-secondary institutions, and employers.
