School Lunch Program
Yutan Public Schools has used a computerized lunch program the last few years. Students, kindergarten through seniors punch their own PIN number
into the computer when they are in the lunch line. As they use the program, the cost of meals will be automatically deducted from the
balance of their account. We prefer for parents to send money in advance for their child/children’s account, i.e. $25, $50, $100. This will be deposited to each individual student’s account. A reminder will be sent home when your balance is getting low. Charging lunches is strongly discouraged. We encourage you to keep a positive balance in your child’s account. Students can buy extra milk or food items, which will be deducted from their account.
The following meal prices will be in effect for the 2012-2013 school year:
Gr. 1-6: $1.90 (daily) *Breakfast-$1.00 (daily)
Gr. 5th & 6th: can include the salad bar with their meal for $.25
Gr. 7-12: $2.15(daily) *Breakfast-$1.10 (daily)
Gr. 7-12: can purchase the salad bar only for $1.00 (however, all meals include salad bar)
Extra milk: $.30 per carton
Parents who wish to visit the schools and eat lunch with their child/children will need to notify the school first that you plan to eat there. The charge for visitors is $2.90 for a lunch & $1.75 for breakfast (this is for any adult or accompanying child that is not a student at
Yutan Schools).
Parents interested in applying for free and reduced meals for their children should check the enclosed eligibility standards; determine if you qualify, then fill out and return the enclosed application to the Principal’s office in either school. If you qualify for food stamps, you may wish to send the verification letter from the Department of Social Services INSTEAD of the application. We encourage you to take advantage of the benefit if you think you may qualify. If you have any questions, give the school a call. Forms are included in this letter or you can pick up additional forms from either principal’s assistant.
School Breakfast Program
The high school and elementary will be serving breakfast again this year. Each student may buy a hot or cold breakfast for a cost of $1.00 (EL) and $1.10 (HS) each. An elementary combo breakfast is $1.40 each. An adult breakfast is $1.75. Breakfast will be served from 7:30-8:00 a.m.
Students may apply for free and reduced price meals by submitting an application through the principal's office.
Transportation
If you are new to the district and live more than one mile from school, please contact the office of the Superintendent so you can get your student included on the list. When routes are finalized, your bus driver will contact you with approximate pick-up and drop-off times.
Yutan Public Schools offers bus service at the entrance of Bull Run and the Itan Park parking area for students who live within the city limits. There is limited bus space so this is a first come, first serve basis, and the Busing Request Form must be filled out every year. These forms are available in the elementary and high school offices. THE AFTERNOON DROP-OFF IN ITAN PARK IS FULL SO WE WILL BE UNABLE TO TAKE ANY MORE REQUESTS.
