<div align="center"><pre><o:p></o:p></pre></div>          May 28   A memo was sent home last week regarding our upcoming field trip to the Johnson Geo Centre.  The field trip will be taking place on June 6th and will cover many outcomes in our final science unit on rocks and minerals.  Permission slips and fees are due back on or before June 1st.  Parents are welcomed to volunteer as chaperones however will be required to pay the Geo Centre’s entrance fee of $5.75 as well as provide their own transportation.   Scholastic book orders are due on Thursday of this week. This will be the last book order of the school year.    Our Elementary Spring Concert is fast approaching.  It will be held this Wednesday (May 30th) at 7:00pm.  Tickets are available at the office now for $3.00 each (advance sales only).   In Language Arts last week students created their own wacky animal, weather folklore or tall tale as we learned about almanacs. This week we will finish our “Tall Tales” unit and move into learning about different types of poetry.   We continued our focus on decimals last week in Math, where we focused on estimating and adding and subtracting decimal numbers.  We will finish this unit this week and begin a new unit on measurement.    In Health last week we continued our journey through the digestive system, where we learned about the importance of caring for our stomach. Next up, we will be looking at the urinary system, its organs and functions.   Last week in French we practiced our animal vocab with some listening exercises and this week we will continue to work towards creating the ultimate class logo!    In Religion last week we learned about forgiveness and taking responsibility for our decisions in "Joseph and his Brothers". The students created and acted out some skits which portrayed people showing forgiveness to others.    Next in Social Studies we will be looking at how human interaction shapes the earth.  Following this will be a study of Canada’s regions, populations, government and symbols.   Last week in Science we had ‘good vibrations’ when we completed an experiment to find out where sound really comes from.  This week we will look at pitch and compare animal’s hearing to that of human’s.  Have a great week!
