The St. Edward's Drama Club is an extra-curricular group of grade 4,5 and 6 students that meet once per week after school. The club is open to all elementary students who wish to join. During the first half of the year, the students focus on creative drama activities for an hour a week. These activities are improvisational and focus on the elements of Creative Drama. The students always enjoy these activities and are able to apply what they have learned to our spring production.
Spring Musical
After the Christmas break, our Drama Club begins preparation for our spring musical. During auditions, each child reads a prepared passage from the play and sings a piece of music.
All drama club members are given a part in the play and students may also help to build sets and make the necessary props. The musical is usually presented in late May or early June. Over the past several years, the Drama Club has presented many successful productions including "the Emperor's New Clothes", "Rats", The Best Little Theater in Town", "School Daze", "The Granny Awards", and "Dig It".
