Dear Parents / Guardians:

The Home Ec. program at St. Paul’s Jr. High is a semesterized  
course.  All students will take Home Ec. for one term each year.

The marks for this course will based on 50% for in-class work, and 50% for 
take home weekly assignments.  There will be 10 take home assignments in 
all.

This year I am asking that ALL assignmetns be signed by the parent's before 
they are passed into be corrected.  A letter is coming home with a checklist 
of the 10 assignments.  You will be able to see what is required in the 
assignments, and a space to check off when they have been completed and 
signed by you.  Once signed , please encourage your child to pass them in 
right away.

All assignments will be made available on my school website, or can 
be picked up from the Home Ec. room at any time.  If a student misses a 
class 
for any reason, they will not be responsible for hands-on work done during 
class time.  However, they must  complete that week’s take home assignment 
and pass it in as soon as possible. 
  
     Work to be corrected is to be placed in the labelled white basket on 
top of the filing cabinet in the Home Ec room.  STUDENTS are then 
responsible to COLLECT their own corrected folders from the 
appropriate "Pick Up" box, in the HOme Ec room.  .

In order to help keep the student’s work organized, I request that each 
student keep all their Home Ec. work in a Duo-tang / Tri-lock folder.  These 
are the paper folders with 3 metal tabs to hold the papers.  Please do NOT 
have them use pocket folders, as the papers tend to get “lost”.  These 
folders are available at school for 25 cents if necessary to buy here.  I 
also ask that they do NOT use Binders, as I have no where to store them 
while being corrected.

As I teach the entire school Home Economics, it is impossible for me to 
call home to remind parents / students that assignments are overdue.
