Research paper now due Monday Feb 13th - Please submit final paper with APA 
guidelines  and rough copy in a duotang folder. ( if you choose not to get 
your edited draft your final copy is still due Monday

January 2012

January 27th- this week was spent researching. No more class time will be 
devoted to research. Students have APA booklets for paper guidelines and 
instructions on how to create reference page using Word 2007. Rough copy of 
papers are due Friday, February 3rd. Final copy is due February 10th. I am 
available outside of classtime during the second half of lunch and 
afterschool on Wednesdays.

We are now starting the research component of the curriculum. Research 
proposals are due Jan. 20th - research paper details will be discussed in 
class January 16th. Papers will be due 1st week in February.

Nov 28th - Students were given term projects for novel study - due Dec 16th
POSTPONED - these projects are now due January 9th, 2012

In class writing assessment- center on assignment sheet will ake place in 
class on January 6th

1st journal entry for Speak is posted on Edmodo - this is due Nov 23rd

Glogsters are now due Monday Nov 21- make sure you log on to Glogster edu - 
click edu green icon lower right of glogster home page.

Nov 14th - Short Story tests were returned today - students have until 
Wednesday (Nov 16th) to re-do one question from their test. The answer is to 
be posted on edmodo.

On Monday Nov 14th we are starting the novel Speak by Laurie Anderson.

Scary stories are now due on Nov 14th. Please use a duotang folder and have 
the following order:

Title page
1/2 page about the author
Final copy
Rough copy
4 planning sheets
2 editing sheets

If you have printing issues please email your story and come see me before 
class on Monday morning.

Glogster presentations start Nov 15th.

First Term Quiz November 7th and 8th - Short story and Poetry

We are currently working on scary stories in class. These stories will be 
polished at home.These stories are due Nov 7th -

Oct 5th - Hollett 9(5) - absent and band students please complete vocab and 
questions sheets on "Gore" for tomorrows class.

Oct 4th -
9(4) Read "Gore" page three Sightlines - absent students please log on to 
edmodo and print terminology sheet( in Gore folder) - complete defintions for 
homework. The examples from the story will be completed in class.

9(5) - complete worksheet on "Gore"

October 2nd 9 (4) - Please complete three questions and vocab on "The 
Interlopers"

Wednesday and Thursday _ Sept 28/29 Band and absent students please view the 
following video clip and complete the journal entry on a sheet of loose leaf 
and in pen.

be completed for tomorrow's class. Please bring independent novel as well.

Tuesday Sept 20 - 9(4) Conroy - will present to class tomorrow. Please come 
prepared. All worksheets for "Lamb to the Slaughter" corrected.

Remember to bring your independent novels to class everyday.

Friday Sept 16th - Journal Entry completed in class on Mary and role of women 
in media - see question sheet.

"Lamb to the Slaughter" in Sightlines p.10. All worksheets ( Mary's 
character, point of view, types of irony) to be completed by 
Monday September 19th.
