Extra math help:  I will be in the LRC every Wednesday from 3-4!


May 15th

Part 1 of the term 2 project was completed in class last week.  Part 2 is scheduled for Wednesday, May 22nd.  We are currently working on the last chapter of the year and will start final review as soon as it's completed.

April 17th

Chapter 6 unit test is scheduled for Tuesday, April 23rd.  I told the class that the red folders should be in at that time as well.  The worksheets is a good review for their test!

April 10th

Chapter 6 in class assignment is scheduled for Tuesday, April 16th.  It will cover sections 6.1-6.5.

March 6th

Chapter 5 test is scheduled for Wednesday, March 13th.

February 19th

Chapter 5 in class assignment is scheduled for Tuesday, February 26th

February 7th

Students were given back their chapter 4 test today in class.

January 29th

Chapter 4 folders are due Tuesday, February 5th

January 28th

Students were given back their in class assignments today in class.  The test is scheduled for Friday, February 1st.

Also, permission forms for the outdoor activity day went home on Friday.  The cost is $8 per student and the form and money are due by Thursday, January 31st.

January 22nd

The in class assignment that was scheduled for tomorrow will be moved to Thursday because we are missing class today.

January 16th

Chapter 4 in class assignment is scheduled for Wednesday, January 23rd.

December 5th

We're still working through chapter 3 on fractions in class, hopefully to get everything completed before the holidays.  The red folders are due Friday, December 14th, please make every effort to have these in on time.  Also, the chapter 3 test is scheduled for Monday, December 17th.

November 29th

Chapter 3 in class assignments were given back to students on Tuesday.

November 16th

Chapter 3 in class assignment is scheduled for Thursday, November 22nd.  It will cover sections 3.1 - 3.4.  Just a reminder that after school math help in Wednesday after school in the resource center.  Also, this is a longer unit and students should be working away on their red folders.

November 9th

Students were given back their chapter 2 test today in class.

October 30th

Students were given back their chapter 2 in class assignments today.

October 26th

Red folders for chapter 2 are due Friday, November 2nd. Unit 2 test is scheduled for Monday, November 5th.  There is a practice test with solutions for chapter two on the Grade 8 Math Documents link to the left of the page.

October 19th

Chapter 2 in class assignment is scheduled for Thursday, October 25th.  It will cover sections 2.1 - 2.3

October 15th

Students were given back Chapter 1 Test today in class.  We are now started chapter 2 and students are encouraged to work on their red folders throughout the chapter.  They went home last week.

October 4th

Reminder: Red folders are due tomorrow!

September 28

Student were given back Chapter 1 Assignment today in class.  Chapter 1 test will be coming up soon so students are encouraged to complete their red folders at home this coming week.  The red folders are due Friday, October 5th.

September 17

The first piece of assessment is scheduled for Monday, September 24th.  It will be an open book assignment that students will complete independently during class time.  It will cover sections 1.1-1.4.  Students are encouraged to review their notes and practice questions from their homework, mid-unit review, and their red folder at home.  There is extra practice found in grade 8 documents to the left of the screen.

September 12

Students were given a math folder today containing extra practice worksheets to go along with chapter 1.  Students are encouraged to work on these at home throughout the chapter.  The due date for each chapter will be a couple days before the test.  The due date for chapter one will be set in a couple weeks.  Try not to leave them until last minute :)

September 6

Students were given a math information package to bring home.  Please have a look through the package and return the last page to school.
