YOU ARE INVITED TO the PTA general meeting, Thursday, January 10, 2012. 7pm, Barka Library.
**THIS IS A CHANGE FROM OUR USUAL SCHEDULE OF THE FIRST THURS. OF THE MONTH!**
Children are welcome. Agenda is posted on our PTA monthly meeting agendas & minutes page as soon as it's available.
The Nature's Classroom is in need of "sitting stumps." We will be using them in the outdoor space for children to sit on when the log is upright. They will be made from logs that should be at least 14 inches long and 14 inches wide. We would also like to have a natural branch arbor made (please google image "branch arbor" for ideas). We can put your storm clean up to good use for the children's space. Please email Amy at alv0729@hotmail.com if you can help.

for our second
Parent Coffee Break!
The Parent Coffee Break meets each month in the guidance suite at Barka
School, just before our PTA meetings*. It’s a drop-in time set up especially
for parents and guardians of Barka students to:
Relax and talk with other parents and the school guidance counselor in a
comfortable setting.
Share information on a number of parenting topics related to school, home,
and our community.
Enjoy coffee, tea, cocoa and light refreshments. Toys available for kids to
play with, along with child-friendly snacks!
This month, we will be discussing how to have a great parent-teacher conference.
For more information on Parent Coffee Breaks at Barka, please contact Karin
Allard, School Guidance Counselor at Barka School at (603) 434-2430, x 518.
*If you’re able, please join us for our PTA meeting following the Parent Coffee
Break. The PTA meeting will begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. in the library*
If you find that any details about your PTA committee/event are missing or you would just like to add something to the website, please email Amy Velez at alv0729@hotmail.com. Thank you!
Our teachers' wishlist page was updated on 9/24/2012- Recyclable needs.
Our PTA's Nature's classroom committee has been hard at work writing a New Hampshire State Council on the Arts grant to fund an artist-in-residence. This residency would provide Barka with an amazing opportunity to further enhance the outdoor space at Barka with an area designated as a Nature's classroom complete with paths and gardens for teachers and students to use as a part of the classroom curriculum and for community members to enjoy as well. We have begun our Arts Residency and are looking forward to a fun-filled learning year. Please visith the Nature's Classroom Artist-in-Residence Page for more details.
NEW TO THE WEBSITE AS OF 11/11/11:
Visit our LINKS page to learn how you can submit YOUR Barka event photos to our yearbook company. Please read ALL the details to know the "ins and outs" of the who, what, when, where, why and how if it all!
Our "Volunteers Needed" page is updated around 1-3 times a week, please check in with that often as there is always a need for extra hands and friendly smiles! Many hands make light work.
If you are ever curious if there is NEW news on our website, scroll to the bottom of each page. It will tell you the last date that specific page was updated. I will also try to add new items directly to the home page. There is also a counter of visitors. It is fairly accurate, except each time you hit refresh or each time I update the home page, it adds a new visit. A good estimate of how many visits- check out the # and take away 200. This will account for my building the website visits to the home page AND the folks who refresh/or return to home page in a single web visit.
