YOU ARE INVITED TO the PTA general meeting, Thursday, May 3, 2012.  7pm, Barka Library.  Children are welcome.  Agenda is posted on our PTA monthly meeting agendas & minutes page.

Our teachers' wishlist page was updated on 3/21/2012- Recyclable needs.

Our PTA's Nature's classroom committee has been hard at work writing a New Hampshire State Council on the Arts grant to fund an artist-in-residence.  This residency would provide Barka with an amazing opportunity to further enhance the outdoor space at Barka with an area designated as a Nature's classroom complete with paths and gardens for teachers and students to use as a part of the classroom curriculum and for community members to enjoy as well.

For the residency, we are requesting landscape architect, Laura Campbell, who is listed on the Art Council's website.  If we do get the grant, Ms. Campbell would work with all students through her time with us in the Spring of 2013.  If you are interested in reading the grant narrative we are sending to the art council, please email Amy Velez, our Nature's Classroom committee chair, at alv0729@hotmail.com and she will gladly send you an email with the document attached.

Updates regarding the status on our grant review and results will be posted here as soon as we have them.

NEW TO THE WEBSITE AS OF 11/11/11:
Visit our LINKS page to learn how you can submit YOUR Barka event photos to our yearbook company.  Please read ALL the details to know the "ins and outs" of the who, what, when, where, why and how if it all!

Our "Volunteers Needed" page is updated around 1-3 times a week, please check in with that often as there is always a need for extra hands and friendly smiles!  Many hands make light work.

If you are ever curious if there is NEW news on our website, scroll to the bottom of each page.  It will tell you the last date that specific page was updated.  I will also try to add new items directly to the home page.  There is also a counter of visitors.  It is fairly accurate, except each time you hit refresh or each time I update the home page, it adds a new visit.  A good estimate of how many visits- check out the # and take away 200.  This will account for my building the website visits to the home page AND the folks who refresh/or return to home page in a single web visit.
