Greenland Central school Mission Statement The mission of the Greenland School District is to enable every student to acquire and demonstrate the skills, knowledge, and problem solving abilities needed to become thinking, tolerant, responsible citizens and family members who value learning throughout their lives. Core Values and Beliefs 1. Parents play an important role in their children’s education. 2. Community involvement and support are vital for the future success of our schools. 3. A core of skills and knowledge underlies academic success. 4. Each student is entitled to an education that fosters the development of the individual’s full potential and is respectful of learning styles and learning rates. 5. All members of the school community are entitled to a safe, supportive, and secure environment. 6. Students must be prepared with effective communication, critical thinking, and technological skills. 7. It is essential to recognize the importance of cooperation, as well as competition. 8. Students must be able to set goals and priorities, evaluate progress, and assume responsibility for their own actions. 9.
Respect for others, dignity, and trust lay the ground work
