I started teaching preschool in 1989 when I began my education at Hesser
College. During those seven years I received my Associates degree in Early
Childhood Education and taught grade levels from toddler to "big kids" at
Small World. I continued my education at Rivier College. I received a
Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Development/Early Childhood
Education/General Special Education. I began working for the Nashua School
district in 1995 as a paraprofessional while earning my degree and was hired
as a teacher, after graduating from Rivier.I am married to my best friend
Chuck. I am proud to say that I have a Master's degree in Curriculum,
Instruction and Assessment from Walden University. I have one son named Ben
who is 18 and will be attending UNH in the fall and two step-children named
Jason who is 22 and has recently graduated from UNH and Michael who is 19 and
attends UNH. I also have my dog Jessie. During my free time, I enjoy
spending time with family.I like to hike and exercise, especially
kickboxing and weight lifting. I'm a big beleiver in a maintaining a healthy
lifestyle. Teaching the children how to maintain a healthy lifestyle, is a
part of the daily activities in my classroom.
My mission is to help children become responsible learners and recognize the
importance of education. I believe education should be fun and exciting
with many different learning opportunities. I believe children learn at
differing levels and therefore, I will make the effort to individualize
assignments to meet the needs of all students, so they are able to achieve at
their highest potential and foster a love for learning. I will work to help
raise their self esteem and empower them to be good communicators. I believe
all children deserve the best possible education, which not only takes place
in the classroom, but at home as well. Working together with parents in a
communicative, trusting relationship, we can offer the children a better
chance at being academically and socially successful.
