Helpful Websites For Parents & Families

The following websites provide helpful information re: community resources
related to topics of interest to parents & families such as parenting,
education & learning, mental health & counseling, grief and loss, changing
families, substance abuse prevention, child safety, etc.

Family Resource Connection of the NH State Library

This website contains a free lending library with books, articles, & videos on
a large variety of topics related to children & families.  The library will
mail items free of charge with return postage paid as well.  The site also
provides a Directory of Parenting Resources listing service agencies and
crisis hotlines to assist with a variety of issues.

Department Of Health & Human Services

This website provides an extensive network of community resources offering
assistance with family challenges (e.g. safety, finances, physical and mental
health, social services) including crisis intervention hotlines

Kids Health

This website provides information on physical and mental health for parents,
teens, and children.  The Kids site provides children with health information
in language they can understand and through the use of interactive games. A
great resource for assisting children with understanding health conditions
they may be dealing with (e.g. ADHD, depression, diabetes, etc.)

NH Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence

This site provides information regarding emergency services & shelters, as
well as counseling for individuals who have/are experiencing domestic and
sexual violence

Grief & Loss

The Hospice website offers a wealth of information for families coping with
the loss of a loved one, including ways for helping children with the grief
process

Child and Family Services

This website not only outlines counseling resources but also has a parent line
section providing parenting advice on an extensive list of topics (e.g. Mean
Girls, Bullying, Loss of A Pet, Divorce & Remarriage, Single Parenting, etc.)
