I graduated from Notre Dame College in 1995 with a Bachelor degree in
Elementary Education/Special Education including a concentration in social
studies. I have lived in New Boston for 18 years and have a husband, Rick,
of 17 years and two children, Cody and Katie.
I substitute taught for two years in the school district
and was fortunate enough to be asked to serve on the P.B.I.S. team as family
liason in 2006 for New Boston Central School. While participating at the
workshops for P.B.I.S. I realized what a wonderful group of caring,
committed teachers New Boston Central School has. I feel very fortunate to be
able to serve my community with such a devoted group of people.
"Believing is achieving!" That is my motto for our class.
When you step outside the class to go home at 2:10, may you step a little
higher with each day that comes.
My personal mission is to teach you how to teach yourself. I want you to
feel responsible for your learning and understand why it is important. I
want you to know where you can find answers to your questions and why it is
important to be self-sufficient as well as contributing members to your
community. Self-empowerment and confidence in your own ability as well as
recognizing the abilities of others are key concepts to me. If you can leave
our classroom believing in yourself and realizing what you can do to help
others, the mission is accomplished!
